Summer Mentorship Program
Starting university can come with a lot of questions, especially when it comes to tackling academics, networking, and finding your place in the community. The RCAS Summer Mentorship Program connects incoming first-year students with upper-year RCAS mentors who can offer an honest perspective on what to expect at UofT, and how to make the most of the experience.
Through four interactive and personalized sessions, summer mentees will learn about various accounting pathways while building skills and confidence for their first year. Each session focuses on a different aspect of university life and professional development, giving students a platform for students to comfortably ask questions and learn from mentors who were once in their shoes not long ago.
What to Expect
Welcome to Rotman Commerce: Kickoff & Orientation
To help incoming students feel more supported and connected before the school year begins, allowing them to build the confidence they need to thrive throughout the school year
Thriving, not just Surviving: Academic Planning, Experiences & Support
By the end of the session, mentees will have a better understanding of first-year academic requirements and the different pathways they can explore.
Demystify Accounting: Accounting Insights
Mentees will gain a realistic perspective on student life and professional development opportunities within accounting. They’ll also learn more about the accounting pathway and related courses, helping them feel more confident about exploring their options.
Cheers to New Chapters!
Closing & Reflections
Mentees will be able to navigate Rotman Commerce and University of Toronto resources, and clubs, clarify misconceptions and reflect on future opportunities.
Testimonials

“Being a summer mentee gave me an upper-year mentor I could always turn to with my questions during one of the most overwhelming transitions. It helped me prepare mentally for academics, clubs, and university life. It also gave me the confidence to get involved in clubs and events from the very beginning of my first year.”
Felisa Chen, Class of 2029
“The RCAS summer mentorship program was an amazing way to integrate myself within the Rotman Commerce community! I received outstanding support in a wide variety of areas outside of accounting, including course selection and broad-spectrum advice on life at Rotman. I was able to meet amazing people and build connections that helped me throughout my first year in university.”
